Professor Emeritus Kenso Soai and Professor Emeritus Henri B. Kagan, Recipients of the Ryoji Noyori Prize, Awarded the 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Takasago International Corporation extends its sincere congratulations to Professor Emeritus Kenso Soai of Tokyo University of Science, recipient of the 2023 Ryoji Noyori Prize sponsored by Takasago International Corporation , and Professor Emeritus Henri B. Kagan of University of Paris-Saclay in France, recipient of the 2002 Prize, on being awarded the 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

The two laureates were awarded the Prize “for the discovery of non-linear effects and autocatalysis in asymmetric organic synthesis,” in recognition of their pioneering research achievements in this field.

The Ryoji Noyori Prize is an international prize administered by the Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan (SSOCJ) and sponsored by Takasago International Corporation. It was established in 2002 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of SSOCJ and Professor Ryoji Noyori’s receipt of the 2001 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Professor Noyori currently serves as an External Board Member of Takasago International Corporation. The Prize recognizes outstanding achievements in synthetic organic chemistry, particularly in the field of asymmetric synthetic chemistry.

Through our sponsorship of the Ryoji Noyori Prize, we will continue to contribute to the advancement of scientific research. We once again extend our sincere congratulations to Professor Soai and Dr. Kagan on receiving this prestigious honor.
