The Takasago Group updated the greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, which were approved as 1.5-degree/Net Zero science-based targets by SBT initiative
The Takasago Group updated the greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets from well-below 2 degrees to 1.5-degree. In addition, our group formulated an overall net-zero target to achieve net-zero emissions in our value chain. The updated reduction targets are as below;
[Near-Term Targets] ・Takasago International Corporation commits to reduce absolute scope 1※2 and 2※2 GHG emissions 46.2% by FY2030 from a FY2019 base year. ・Takasago International Corporation also commits to reduce absolute scope 3※2 GHG emissions 27.5% within the same timeframe. [Long-Term Targets] ・Takasago International Corporation commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90% by FY2050 from a FY2019 base year. ・Takasago International Corporation also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 90% within the same timeframe. [Overall Net-Zero Target] Takasago International Corporation commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by FY2050. |
The Takasago Group was certified for our previous reduction targets by Science Based Targets (SBT) initiative※4 in May 2021 and has been promoting reduction activities.
With the update of the targets, the short-term targets were re-approved as science-based reduction targets consistent with the 1.5-degree by SBT initiative in April 2025. The long-term and overall net-zero targets were approved as net-zero targets by SBT initiative. We are committed to implement GHG reductions activities to achieve our reduction targets and contribute to a carbon-neutral society with an impact on society towards the realization of a de-carbonized society.
※1.Direct emissions from the reporting company's factories, offices, vehicles, etc.
※2.Indirect energy-derived emissions from electric power and other energy consumed by the reporting company.
※3.Emissions from supply chain activities such as procurement, logistics, use of sold products, etc.
※4.SBT initiative is a global partnership to encourage companies to set the science-based target of GHG emission reduction. The Initiative's criteria for approval of the 1.5-degree and net zero target are global standards for “limiting the temperature increase to 1.5-degree above pre-industrial levels” under the Paris Agreement.
