Management of Water Consumption

Being a small island, Singapore has always considered water as a strategic and precious natural resource. Efficient use of its limited water resources has always been a concern of everyone living in Singapore.
TIS has a permanent water usage management program. With this program, annual water usage is regularly monitored to ensure efficient usage.

Below are some of the water saving projects implemented:
-RO System Rejected Water used as Makeup Water for Cooling Tower and Scrubber
-Install Dust Collector System to reduce dust in the workplace which in turn reduces the water usage for cleaning purpose
-Use last rinse of spray dryers for first rinse

On-Site Renewable Energy – Solar

As Singapore receives an average of 5.5 hours of sunshine a day with an average annual solar irradiance of 1,580 kWh/m2/year, solar energy remains as the most promising renewable energy source when it comes to electricity generation.
TIS’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability is clearly demonstrated in the installation of solar panels on the building rooftops which started to generate electricity in 2015.
As a part of our continued commitment, TIS decided to install additional solar panels over the air-conditioning condensers on both factory and main buildings in 2017. The combined generating capacity of the solar panels installed in TIS is now 275KW and supplies about 3% of the TIS annual electricity consumption thereby reducing TIS CO2 footprint by 127 t CO2 /annum.

TIS collaborated with Singapore’s LaSalle College of the Arts to give graduating fashion students a boost as they step into the working industry. Two graduands were selected for the collaboration after clinching top spots in the Fragrance Fundamentals Program held by TIS.
The graduands articulated their design thinking and, with the TIS Senior Perfumers, composed the right notes for the desired scent. The perfumes were then dispersed on the catwalk during the fashion showcase held by the institution.

TIS collaborated with two Secondary Schools as our Fragrance Partner and Flavors Partner. Students were guided through a program-based learning journey where they were given opportunity to visit our R&D laboratories and hands-on exposure of making products, such as soft drink with own flavors.
