The Takasago group is selected as one of Asia-Pacific Climate Change Leaders

The Takasago group has been selected as one of "Asia Pacific Climate Change Leaders" compiled by the Financial Times (UK), and Statista, a German research firm. The survey evaluates companies headquartered in the Asia-Pacific region based on the degree of reduction of greenhouse gas emissions between 2016 and 2021, the results of SBTi※1 certification and CDP※2 scoring result. In this survey, 130 Japanese companies have been selected.

In 2020, the Takasago group established greenhouse gas emission reduction targets and obtained SBT certification. We aim to reduce 27.5% of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions intensity by FY2030 as compared to FY2019. In order to achieve this target, we are promoting various initiatives globally under our mid- to long-term sustainability plan, Sustainability 2030. As for Scope 3, we also aim to reduce 13.5% emissions by FY2030 as compared to FY2019.

In 2022, our group was selected as a model company for the Japanese Ministry of the Environment's “Supply Chain Decarbonization Promotion Project". We have been studying measures to reduce Scope 3 emissions and are further promoting them. In addition, CDP has selected us as a "Supplier Engagement Leader" in recognition of our efforts to tackle with climate change throughout our supply chain.

Climate change is one of the most important social issues global society is facing. We will continue to focus on climate -related issues and will work together on sustainability issues.
