Takasago participated in the 56th International Symposium on Essential Oils (ISEO 2026), held from September 7–9, 2026 in Grasse, France, delivering plenary lecture, an oral and a poster presentation.

This symposium is an international conference for the global scientific and industrial community dedicated to essential oils, natural products, and aroma science. It brings together experts from both industry and academia to discuss cutting-edge research findings.

In the plenary lecture presentation, an overview of the Crystalline Sponge Method and its practical application to unknown aroma constituents in various natural products were presented.
The poster presentation reported on a technique for noninvasively determining the molecular structures of trace volatile compounds derived from plants by combining the Crystalline Sponge Method with headspace sampling. This poster received the Best Poster Presentation Award.

In the oral presentation, the project for reconstituting the scent of “Ranjatai” agarwood was introduced. The analysis results and the fragrance reconstitution process were highlighted.
