Takasago received the Best Poster Presentation Award at the 56th International Symposium on Essential Oils (ISEO 2026), held from September 7–9, 2026 in Grasse, France.

This symposium is an international conference for the global scientific and industrial community dedicated to essential oils, natural products, and aroma science. It brings together experts from both industry and academia to discuss cutting-edge research findings.

This award recognizes the development of a technique that combines the Crystalline Sponge Method with headspace sampling, enabling the non-invasive and efficient structural analysis of trace volatile compounds derived from plants that have traditionally been difficult to analyze structurally.
By applying this technique, it has become possible to determine the structures of natural products from previously inaccessible samples of limited availability, including samples derived from rare, precious, and even endangered plant species, thereby opening new possibilities for natural products research and the discovery of aroma compounds.
