Incense Culture Seminar Held

On Wednesday, 26 November, Takasago held an Incense Culture Seminar in our auditorium as a related event to the special exhibition “Miyabi : Japanese Elegance―1400 Years of Incense Culture”. The seminar consisted of two parts: a famous incense appreciation session and a lecture. Participants enjoyed the fragrances of three renowned incenses from the Takasago Collection: “Chijimi”, “Shibafune”, and “Fujibakama”. During the seminar, our Public Relations department introduced the background of recreating the fragrance of “Ranjatai”, followed by a lecture titled “Takimono (Incense Blends) and Fragrant Woods” delivered by Mr. Masahiro Yamada, Chairman of Kōgadō.

Due to the number of applications far exceeding capacity, the incense appreciation session was divided into two time slots, held before and after the lecture. Additionally, we welcomed attendees who participated in the lecture-only program, bringing the total number of participants to 54.

Mr. Yamada's lecture is available to view on Takasago's YouTube channel.
