Takasago International Corporation has developed a fragrance that recreates the scent of the legendary incense “Ranjatai (Oujuku-kō)”, housed in the Shosoin Repository, by analyzing its aromatic components. The fragrance will be featured in the exhibition “Shosoin THE SHOW” at the Osaka Museum of History from June 14, where visitors will have the rare opportunity to experience this historic scent firsthand. In addition, a talk event featuring Takasago’s researchers will be held on July 26 during the exhibition period. The scientific process of analyzing and recreating the scent of Ranjatai will also be broadcast on an upcoming NHK program, showcasing Takasago’s researchers and perfumers involved in this extraordinary project.
