Takasago International Corporation was one of the key corporate sponsors for "World Pastry 2009," a competition held to decide the greatest patisseries on the planet on March 14 and 15, 2009 at the JCB Hall in Tokyo Dome City. Invited to take part in this event were many of the world's top patisseries, fresh from achieving stellar results at the "La Coupe de Monde de la Patisserie" challenge in France and the "World Pastry Team Championship (WPTC)" in the United States. Played out in Tokyo was a genuine international contest representing eight different countries, Japan among them, with the professionals vying in the categories of desserts and sweets.
Held in an adjacent venue was "Sweet Sweets Japan," an event featuring workshops, talk shows, film screenings and numerous other presentations and activities concerning confectioneries.
