STU Completes New Flavor Factory Building

Shanghai Takasago Union Fragrances & Flavors Co., Ltd. (STU) completed a new factory building at its production complex in Shanghai's Pudong district in December 2002. Planning for the facility began back in 2000 as a step to boost production capacity in China, where flavors are expected to catch up with fragrances in the country’s burgeoning markets. With the completion of the building, the STU production complex has eight times the former floor area and double the manufacturing capacity. STU will now be able to respond to the diversifying flavor market with a newfound capacity to produce many types of flavors in full compliance with China's flavor-production regulations for a decade to come. The new factory will be adopting the manufacturing process for water soluble flavors used in Japan.
