Our factories, offices, and affiliates are all joining in the fight to protect the environment

Production processes like synthesis, refining, and processing all consume large amounts of heat energy and electricity to supply heat and power, and reducing CO2 emissions from such energy consumption constitutes a major challenge. Our goal is to cut CO2 emissions by 2% year on year. We are keeping up efforts to lower energy consumption, and thus reduce emissions, through research and development of highly efficient process technologies. We are also seeking to diversify ways of reducing CO2 emissions, including adopting cogeneration.^*

A system that simultaneously supplies electricity and heat. The exhaust heat produced during generation of power is used as heat energy, making it possible to reduce use of fossil fuels and thus cut greenhouse gases.
