The term EHS, which stands for “Environment, Health, and Safety,” encompasses all activities designed to ensure the health and safety of employees and residents of neighborhoods around our factories.
In today’s corporate world different types of risk tend to be handled by different arms of a business: building-relating risks fall within the purview of administration (facilities), environmental risks are the environment department’s concern, risks affecting people are the remit of personnel. But as companies’ social responsibilities grow, internal structures tasked with centralized management of both physical and human risks are starting to emerge, especially among European and American firms. |
